Shiver: “Warm Hearted”
By Rick Ventrella, 1st Place, Songwriting
I shiver when the spring comes
I refuse the bundle up anymore
I’ve had enough of the white stuff
It’s time to spring forth
I’m gonna stand in the cold
And shiver ‘til the sun comes up
‘Cause it’s getting old,
oh so old
I don’t want to be in it anymore
The songs that we keep on singing
A quiver runs through the notes,
A melody is fine as time itself
It keeps us standing afloat
And our journey feels warmer
By the feeling it invokes
By the song that we sing
and the music we bring
It keeps the warmth in our song.
I’m not cold anymore
I don’t shake anymore
‘Cause I’m singing a warm-hearted song.
Sing along, I’m singing a warm-hearted song
I’m singing, won’t you sing along
A warm hearted song, sing along
A warm hearted song
When was the last time a tear froze
Was it when you opened the door,
I hate the thought of you hurting so.
Let me just sing you a song.
I’m not cold anymore
I don’t shake anymore
‘Cause I’m singing I’m singing, singing,
singing A warm hearted song,
Now won’t you sing along,
Won’t you sing along.
