rustic wood cabin buried snow

Editor’S Note: Issue 3

“If you choose not to find joy in the snow, you will have less joy in your life, but still the same amount of snow.”

I love snow! More than snow, I love the feeling of defiance winter brings! I feel invincible when I am armoured with my long johns, mitts, scarves, toque, boots and my bright neon skidoo suit*. Dressed like a winter warrior, I scoff at the bitter winds! I laugh in the face of cold! I mock snow squalls and sneer at slush!

Early on in the planning of this issue of Perch, we decided to take a deep dive into winter and explore the many ways in which this frigid season shapes our character and our activities. We hope our stories inspire you to find your winter wonderland.

Enjoy!

* For the record, I don’t own a skidoo; I just like one-piece outfits, no matter the season.
