A master of makeup is in our midst. Creepy or not, here he comes.
Most people like to Netflix and chill. Marc-André Levac prefers to Netflix and makeup. For the past four years, the 27-year-old amateur makeup artist, former pro cheerleader and full-time hairstylist has spent his time developing his skills, discovering new techniques, and exploring ways to unleash amazing effects.
All looks and photos by Marc-André.
“I once mixed charcoal toothpaste and strawberry jam to make a gooey black texture to ooze out of my mouth,” he says. (Irony alert: horror films terrify him).
Marc-André spends roughly four to five hours tackling each new visage. He takes a few minutes to snap pics of his work and then wipes his work away: “It’s the creative process that is the most fun for me. The highlight is being able to capture the right look and add it to my portfolio and Instagram.”
What comes next for this master of makeup? Marc-André dreams of doing makeup in the film industry one day and is set to attend IMATS, a makeup artist trade show in Los Angeles this January to acquire new skills and meet inspiring artists. We can imagine binge-watching a favourite Netflix series and seeing his work. Can you?
