Last summer, Cornwall native Brandon Mac—a.k.a. Misty Mac—took to the runway for the Vogue Battle Eleganza competition and sashayed away with the title of Miss Capital Pride 2017. He followed up his winning walk with a performance at Pride Prom, an event for Ottawa teens who weren’t comfortable attending their own high school proms.
More recently, the 24-year-old hairstylist at Shorteez Urban Hair Shop participated in Drag Queen Story Time, a family event organized by Diversity/Diversité Cornwall. It was the first event of its kind for the Cornwall Public Library featuring children’s book readings; themed crafts and games; and a lip-sync act by Misty Mac herself.
Because dragging helps him pay the rent, express himself and have fun, Brandon plans on continuing to deliver the goods in Cornwall and beyond.
